Why do you love newborn baby photography?
I love that you can document that stage in a babies life forever because they grow up so quickly.

Tell me about building your unique style when photographing young children and parents.
Everyone has their own style~ its just trying to figure out what exactly your style is. The only way to do this is to continue to take photos, now with the digital age it doesnt really cost much to take photos. There is no need to send your negatives to the lab. You have instant gratification by looking at your results right away. That way you can see what you did wrong and what you need to improve.

You do some sweet photos with other children. How do you capture the growing characters?
Photographing kids who want to run away and who dont really want to be photographed can be a challenge.
You have to constantly be connected with your little subjects so they want to be photographed. You have to make it more of a game.

What are some other photographic projects you enjoy working on?
I really like doing editorial and commercial work~ its nice to once in a while to have control over your subjects.

What kind of a camera and lenses do you primarily use and how do you select your equipment?
Since no one camera has what I want, I shoot both in Canon and Nikon~ As far as lenses, I like all variety of lenses.
Right now I am really into shooting Wide.

Can you name some tips for those who want to try to shoot beautiful newborn baby photographs?
If you are starting out photographing newborns I would recommend working side by side with a photographer
who has experience with working with newborns. Its not safe for someone who has no experience to begin doing
newborn photography. So I would recommend being an assistant first so you can get confident in holding newborns.
